Mississauga residents have their doubts about the proposed re-establishment of Port Credit Marina. The City is looking at the opportunity to “fill in parts of the lake to create better park land” as well as keeping the port.
Residents are concerned about traffic congestion and fast motorist in the small village. Narrow streets and outdoor patios leave very little walking space for pedestrians.
Other concerns brought forth were the historic feel of the village when modern condos fill the spaces. Residents of Port Credit live here due to open spaces, parks and they like the village atmosphere.
While this is a blessing for local businesses, ample new opportunities will bring new business to the area.
The Light Rail Transit, ending at Port Credit GO Train Station, will enable more people to access the port, parks and shop in the village.
